St. David - the Patron Saint of Wales, Vancouver Minglers and all those with even the teeniest bit of Celtic blood gave us a brilliant excuse to throw a wacky Welsh party!

My friends' Alexis and Joanne deserve mention for being such good sports to wear the very unsexy Welsh costume (I'm not sure how they put up with me). Our lovely Welsh hostesses made sure everyone was greeted with a leak or daffodil to be pinned on their lapel, since everybody is Welsh on St. David's Day. The beautiful and super smart PADS Dogs were in the house getting lots of well deserved attention. Thank you to all of you that came and helped support this worthy charity! Loads of great door prizes: Size Matters Leek Contest was won by Lynn & Rob who brought the largest leek, with a girth of 5.75"! It's all in the girth! For first place they received 4 tickets and complimentary drinks to the Whiskey Dicks at The Cellar during Vancouver Celtic Festival Week. That's going to be a dynomite show!
Dave G. won 4 tickets and complimentary drinks to The McGillicuddy's & Surprise Guest Artist (HINT: who I believe has the intials A.Mac.) playing at The Irish Cellar during Celtic Week. Steve S. won 4 tickets and complimentary drinks to Brody at The Irish Cellar for Celtic Festival week. Romy traded prizes with Paul to take home the super nice Stella Artois golf shirt. Lucky Katherine won the PADS 50/50 Draw. Paul L. (our excellent MC) won tickets to the opening night Vancouver Celtic Festival concert - World's Greatest Céilídh! featuring Ashley MacIsaac at The Yale.
