The lovely hostess, Hawayda, first greeted guests by redeeming tickets into plastic draw cards embedded with cubic zircon. These very special cards included a gift certificate from Palladio Jewellers and a chance to win a third of a carat Polar Bear Diamond™ from Sirius Diamonds, which was drawn later in the evening.

Canadian diamonds rock! They’re high quality, environmentally friendly, come with proof of identity, and are in huge demand. Congratulations to “Diamond Dave”, the lucky winner of this spectacular Canadian gem! Initially we were spoiled by delicious and plentiful tastings of Canadian gourmet delicacies from Urban Fare. YES, I did say Canadian gourmet…Quebec Foie Gras, Wild Smoked Salmon and Salmon Candy, both produced by local chef & restaurant, C Restaurant, Salt Spring Island goat cheese, Lesley Stowe crackers (which were a huge hit), and Hawayda’s favorite, the Ice Wine Chocolates…mmmmm. All of this was complimented perfectly by shots of frozen vodka from Grey Goose Vodka, which they generously supplied in various flavours, shaken on ice and served in mini martini glasses. The luxurious atmosphere was dripping with ice sculptures, snow banks and icicles. The faux-snow melted inhibitions and readied the mood for a fashion show featuring warm, classy shearling furs from Sowflake Fashions. The beautiful Lizbell models were perfectly ice princess primped by M.A.C. Cosmetics adorned with fun and dramatic hair art from Avant Garde Hair. It all looked spectacular!
